Few names of a parasha have inspired as much deep contemplation as that of Chukat, which begins with the words, “This is the chuka of the Torah". -
The negotiations
The Torah’s description of the failed negotiations with the neighboring kings, as well as the wars that followed, appears to have been part of the basic curriculum taught to Jewish children in the following generations. -
